Justice ducked just in time to escape the two double A batteries that Ren threw towards her head. They laughed as Lauren went back to cuddling around her while she played her video game for a while.
Thirty minutes went by and their cuddling was interrupted by house phone. Lauren swung her legs from around Justice to grab the phone so the annoying ring would stop.
“Hello?” Lauren asked as she answered the phone. The voice on the other end caused a look of confusion to cross Lauren’s face and then a look of anger. Justice was too lost in the television to notice the looks or Lauren silently walk out of the room with the cordless phone.
Tatiana watched Lauren come downstairs, speaking to someone on the phone. She secretly hoped that it was Alli calling for her to come home so she listened to the call, only able to hear Lauren’s side of the conversation. It was immediately apparent that Allison was not on the other end.
“Why are you calling here?” Lauren asked the caller.
“No, that’s not going to happen.”
“Who the fuck do you think you are?”
Tatiana wanted Justice to come check on her girlfriends mysterious call, so she took the steps two at a time to interrupt Justice’s game.
“Ok…ok… I’ll be right there.” Lauren replied as she hung the phone up and walked out the door.
By the time Tatiana could explain to Justice what she might want to check into, they were down the stairs to find Lauren already gone. Justice looked outside and Lauren’s car was gone.
“Who was she talking to?” Justice asked Tati.
“I don’t know.” Tati answered. “Check the caller i.d.”
Justice walked into the kitchen and looked at the screen on the phone for the last incoming call.
“Why does this number look so fucking familiar?” Justice said loudly and anger clearly written on her face.
“Let me see…” Tatiana reached for the screen. “Oh shit…”
