When they last left you Kaycee (KT) finally came to terms with the feelings she had been harboring for her long-time, best friend AJ (Alyssa-Joy). After years of waiting for AJ to recognize the relationship they could have, KT decided she valued the one they already had even more. This decision didn’t happen overnight though. There was plenty of drama before KT saw the light, including the new girl in town, Seven (Angela).
AJ worked with Seven on a non-profit benefit and even managed to get KT a job helping with publicity. Through all the behind the scenes work, sparks began to fly between AJ and Seven, leaving KT feeling all too alone and losing her best-friend.
All of their worlds were turned upside down when Seven and KT, already at odds, found out that they were half-sisters. Kaycee’s mother had an affair with Angela’s father that ultimately caused him his life, which placed a bitter hatred in Seven’s heart for White people.
When the series returns, KT and Seven will be on their way to their first family gathering together. Seven’s grandmother, who raised her, will also be there to meet KT’s family and the woman who’s lies caused her son his life. This left AJ back in Columbus, Ohio to deal with the surprise return of her abusive and recently paroled father all on her own.
