She screamed and fell to the floor. She pulled Her into her arms and screamed again.
The gun went off so loudly. Her ears were still ringing. It all happened so fast. There wasn’t enough time to act. How could you let this happen, she screamed to herself.
The air in the room was dead and everyone was frozen. There was blood everywhere now, that couldn’t have been a good sign. She squeezed Her tight and held Her so close, her tears mixed with the blood on their shirts.
“How could you do this!?” She screamed, lifting Her from the ground and laying Her on the bed.
She began to stir and slightly open Her eyes. “Everything will be okay. I’ll get you to a doctor.”
She stopped her as she turned toward the door. “Please don’t leave me.”
Memories of their beginning began to flood her brain. Their first hello, their first kiss and even the first time they held each other. Their friendship was deeper than she remembered.
The woman left standing sunk to the ground and curled into a corner. She couldn’t take her eyes off of the doorway. She refused to look towards the bed. She was frozen and tears were streaming down her face.
Erica took a deep breathe. She looked around and allowed her tears to fall silently. It was all she could do. She was helpless.
