Ash wished she had driven her own car as she approached the police station 45 minutes later. Having had to take the train and a bus took longer than Ash had expected. She reached for the heavy wooden door and felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see a very disappointed Shon. Damn.
“You didn’t even tell me you were leaving. What was so important?” Shon crossed her arms over her chest.
“If you’re here, then obviously know already.” Ash felt an attitude creeping over her body.
“You left me, to come deal with her? In the words of Janet, what has she done for you lately? Seriously, Ash, you’re playing yourself. She’s still wrapped up in the dead chick.”
“Anyone with any kind of feelings would still be mourning the loss of someone they cared about. What was she supposed to do, just forget about her?” Ash had her hands on her hips, her neck had started to gyrate. “Why are you here?”
“I came to save you from making a huge mistake. You’re making a fool of yourself.”
“You know what? I’m not having this conversation with you…” Ash turned around to enter the building and ran right into Ed’s chest.
“Whoa…! You came…?” Ed looked down at her, surprised. She had been watching this interaction from inside the building. She enjoyed the fact that Ash had seemed irritated with Shon. When Ki came to bail her out, she had mentioned that Ash was with Shon. Did she really chose her over Shon?
“Yeah…”Ash seemed embarrassed. Her hands went up to twist an errant loc. “I, uh, I was worried about you…”
“Really? You haven’t seemed too worried lately…”
Ash scrunched her face up to look up at her, “And you haven’t seemed too concerned about how I felt or what I was doing…”
Shon stood back watching the exchange. She wanted to give them privacy, but her curiosity got the better of her, so she stayed. “Ash, since the little jailbird is free, it seems as though she doesn’t need you…”
“You’re wrong. I do need her.” Ash’s eyes got big. “I’m sorry for how I’ve been treating you. I got caught up in Taylor’s death, in my own guilt and I pushed you aside…I was wrong for that. I think we might have something special…”
“It’s too late, dude…” Shon smiled at Ash’s confused expression. “She’s mine now…”
Ash shot her a look and her confidence faded.
“I don’t feel like dealing with this now…” Ash walked away from them both.

lmao! dude, you went out on a couple date and now you think she’s yours. This was funny. About time..sheesh
One time for Ed stepping up and saying, “I do need her”. You know women like when you let them know you need them lol.
Ed needs to get her shit together and let the past be the past. Ash needs to drop the faux “I don’t give a damn” and just snap Ed’s ass into place. And Shon needs to step off–like Dani said.. ice cream in the park doesn’t make you life partners, yo.
Now that I’ve said my piece… I LOVE THIS DAMN SERIES!
Woot!
